Terms
In force from 21 September 2026. This is the first version.
These are the terms on which CatalogBay is offered. They are meant to be read, so they are short and say what is actually true today rather than reserving every right imaginable.
Who provides it
CatalogBay is provided by Wojciech Zurek, as an individual. Contact: privacy@catalogbay.com. How your data is handled is on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.
What CatalogBay is, and what stage it is at
CatalogBay records where your things are and how many there are: you photograph a drawer, a shelf or a box, and find what is in it later.
It is early. The service is new, it runs in a single data-centre zone with no standby, features are incomplete and some are being added while you use it. Things may break, and there may be interruptions without notice. Please do not make CatalogBay the only record of something you cannot afford to lose.
Your account
- You need an account to use the service, and you must give an email address that works.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Anything done with your account is treated as done by you.
- One person per account. You may invite others into a shared catalog where the service offers it.
- If you create access tokens for programs or agents, you are responsible for what they do and for withdrawing them when no longer needed.
What you may not do
- Break the law with it, or store material that is unlawful to possess.
- Upload someone else's personal data, or photographs of people, without a proper basis for doing so.
- Attempt to reach another account's data, probe or overload the service, or work around its limits.
- Resell the service, or run it as a service for others, without agreement.
Your content stays yours
Everything you record — your photographs, notes and catalog — remains yours. You grant only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your content, process it, back it up, and show it back to you and to anyone you share a catalog with. That permission is for running CatalogBay and nothing else. It is not used to train models, and it ends when your content is deleted.
Availability
No uptime is promised and there is no service-level agreement. The service may be taken down for maintenance, changed, or have features removed. If a change would lose data or materially reduce what you have, reasonable notice will be given where possible.
Price
CatalogBay is free while it is at this stage. Charging may be introduced later. If it is, you will be told in advance, and you will not be charged for a period you have already used or without agreeing first. Fair-use limits may be applied to storage and usage to keep the service running for everyone.
Ending it
You may stop at any time and ask for your account and data to be deleted — see the privacy page for how, and for the honest note that this is done by hand today rather than by a button. Access may be suspended or ended if these terms are broken, or if the service is discontinued; in that last case you will be given notice and a reasonable opportunity to get your data out.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the extent the law allows, CatalogBay is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
Governing law
No governing law or place of jurisdiction is stated in this first version. Your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in apply regardless, and this will be settled before CatalogBay is offered through an app store.
Changes
These terms may change. The version in force will always be on this page with its date, and if a change materially affects you and you have an account, you will be told directly.
